A LETTER was sent to Lancashire Education Authority by the parish council on behalf of parents who have expressed concern regarding the allocation of secondary school places to children from Cliviger.

A representative from the authority will attend the parish council meeting on May 16 to answer concerns.

THE Cliviger Challenge now has an official launch date of Saturday, May 10.

There will be a number of agencies in attendance on the day, including a mini roadshow from Burnley Borough Council and representatives of the Countryside Agency.

The inaugural meeting of the Cliviger Challenge steering group has been changed to Wednesday, May 28, due to prior booking of the Village Hall.

The initiative aims to ask every resident in the village what they would like to see before a local plan is drawn up.

THE next meeting of Cliviger Parish Council will be held at the Village Hall, Holme, on Friday, April 25, at 7pm.

PLANNING permission has been granted for an extension at 8 Myrtle Grove.

CLIVIGER Recreation and Community Association (CRaCA) is making inquiries to replace the tyre swings on the playground in Park Road, as they are under-used.

Hopefully a further set of ordinary swings will be obtained in the near future.

The association has made a donation of £200 to Cliviger Cubs, in addition to the recent donations to the Brownies and Guides.

THE first meeting of Red Lees Residents Association was held on April 7, and was very well attended.

The association aims to help residents have a say in development in their part of the parish.
