I AM appalled at Burnley councillors for refusing to hoist the Union flag high above the Town Hall (LET, April 10).
We have hundreds of servicemen fighting in Iraq and we need to show our honour and respect for them.
What this Labour-controlled council needs to realise is that the local elections are only weeks away and unless they have a change of heart, I, for one, will be voting for a candidate who would support the raising of the flag.
I suggest we all do the same -- that way, we will get the councillors -- that we elected -- to listen to us.
