NEVER mind golden sands or the golden mile, Blackpool has got a new addition to its golden collection -- a hand-crafted, pure gold thong!
Costing a tasteful £1,000, the kinky item -- which is constructed out of thousands of tiny 9ct gold chain links -- was designed by a wealthy local businessman as a surprise for his wife.
The jeweller who produced the naughty trinket, Lawrence Chard, of Chard Jewellers on Lytham Road in the resort, says it is truly one-of-a-kind.
He said: "I've been asked to produce many strange and wonderful things during my 40 years as a jeweller, but this stole the cherry.
"I've never come across this kind of gift before, but to me the bottom line is what the customer asks for -- the customer gets.
"The finished product is really unique, but to the naked eye there isn't much to the thong. It's only when you really look at it that you realise how intricately detailed it is."
