ON the evening of March 31 the street light opposite my home ceased to function.

The response from the lighting staff, on three occasions, has left me in the dark.

Firstly, they said that they had received no complaint, or it was somewhere on a desk. Furthermore, they said that there was nothing showing on the computer.

They further revealed that if the fault was other than a replacement bulb, then it was "complicated."

They say that there is light at the end of every tunnel. Not with this lot there isn't!
