COUNCILLOR Dave Harling (Letters, April 24) should be a happy man because many of our troops are coming home having done a professional job in Iraq helping our American allies to overthrow an evil dictator.
How the Left detest our American friends. Saddam Hussein and his evil and brutal regime have gone and that can only be good in the long term for the people of Iraq.
There need not have been a war at all because President Bush gave Saddam Hussein a chance to leave the country. He refused and therefore he bears the consequences for the loss of life.
Finally, Councillor Harling has a selective mind, Margaret Thatcher only opted for war when the Falkland Islands were invaded by force. It was the only alternative when something is taken from you by force.
