KEEN gardeners who would like fresh manure for their roses are invited to take advantage of a free supply thanks to new European regulations.

Black bags full of manure are available from the field off Hurstwood Lane after the farmer was required to collect manure from fields with grazing horses.

Residents are welcome to take manure but are asked to return the bags.

MEMBERS of Worsthorne Mother's Union will be attending the Deanery Festival today at St Leonard's Church, Padiham.

WORSTHORNE Scouts will have a camping standards competition and survival skills camp in May and June.

The younger scouts will be starting their canoe training in June, with the aim of repeating last year's successful canoe camp in August.

They are also looking forward to the Bowleree event in July at Bowlee Scout Camp, Great Harwood. This is a week long scout jamboree with scouts from all over the world attending. Scouts meet on Monday evenings from 8pm. More information from Mr Hopwood on 01282 454704.

COUNCILLOR Philip Walsh has reported villagers concerns to engineers at Lancashire County Council.

Residents have raised issues regarding speeding traffic at the end of Hurstwood Lane. Engineers are to investigate whether a sign would improve the situation.

WORSTHORNE Bellringers attended the Handbell Ringers of Great Britain Northwest Region Spring Conference and took advantage of the many workshops on 'arranging your own music'.

They now feel more confident to transpose and add accompaniments.

Villagers will be able to experience these new techniques when the Ringers will be entertaining at The Annual Parish Meeting in the Reading Rooms on Tuesday 13th May from 7pm. All welcome.
