A HEARTBROKEN family are making a desperate appeal for a mystery couple to reunite them with their lost puppy in time for her first birthday.
Trish McGarvey, of Mossdale, Blackburn, said daughters Becky, 11, and Amy, seven, had been very upset since their 11-month-old Boxer, Abby, ran off last Thursday.
"They're absolutely devastated. It's Abby's first birthday next month and the girls are frightened to even buy her presents," she said.
Abby, who is liver coloured with a black face and white panels on her body, disappeared when dad Paul let her off the lead at the Leeds and Liverpool Canal, in Harwood Street.
She was later seen around a snack van on the same street jumping up at customers, before a couple in a blue estate car picked her up.
