TO say I was shocked by events in the local elections does no justice to the anger and disappointment that I and I'm sure many other people from around Burnley are feeling now.
The BNP's 'success' highlights the obvious problems within the area and we can but only hope that this is the height of these difficulties. Rest assured, if the BNP continues to make strides in local politics, all notions of community, tolerance, harmony and togetherness will be lost.
The BNP is a destructive force, not a remedy to the problems of our town. Racism, fascism and violence will get us all nowhere.
