And his mum will be so pleased to see him that she's even offered to do his dirty washing!

Kevin, along with the other four members of chart-topping Liberty X, will take to the stage at Arts in the Park in Corporation Park in July.

In previous years, tribute bands to the Beatles and Abba have pulled in crowds of more than 30,000. But thousands more are expected to see Kevin, from Abbey Village, near Blackburn, and the chart-topping band made famous by ITV's Popstars show.

Kevin, whose parents have since moved to Leyland, said: "Coming back to Lancashire is something I love doing, and I can't wait to get the chance to perform in Lancashire in front of my friends and family. Everyone has been so supportive all along."

And his mum Bernadette said: "I'm really looking forward to seeing Kevin when he comes to stay with us -- so much so that I'll even do his washing if it brings it home with him!

"And all the family and his friends will be able to see him this time. When they did the last tour a lot of people couldn't get tickets so it will be great for them to go and see him there."

Coun Kate Hollern, Blackburn with Darwen Council leisure and culture boss, said: "We have worked extremely hard to ensure that this will be one of the most memorable events ever.

"We are delighted to have tied up Liberty X, one of the hottest young bands around."

Kevin, 22, was living with his parents at the Royal Hotel in Abbey Village when he first went along to auditions for the ITV series Popstars.

He made it down to the final 10, but was not among the five who went on to win and form the ill-fated group Hear'Say.

The other five formed Liberty X after singing a multi-million-pound deal with Richard Branson's record label V2.

Their debut single Think It Over went to number five in the charts and they scored a number one with 'Just A Little.'

Liberty X will perform on Saturday, July 12, headlining a list of more than 20 bands.
