THE well known entertainer and philosopher, Mr Bernard Manning, is now persona-non-grata in Burnley (LET, May 6).

Mr Manning is an elderly old age pensioner trying to supplement his meagre pittance by giving the occasional performance and in so doing is committing no crime.

Indeed, with most working-class people he is immensely popular.

However, Mr Manning does not bow to the diktats of the left-wing ideologues of Burnley or anywhere else. He "tells it like it is" and good luck to him.

He does, though, use excessive obscene language, which is in no way required.

The left-wing cabal of misfits who are united in their collective, vicious dislike of all those who do not share their views should look at themselves before deciding what the good people of Burnley are allowed to witness.
