WHAT sort of hypocrite is Coun Bill Taylor? (Letters, May 1)? He speaks glibly of peace and harmony and of those who would divide through race and culture, all the while ignoring the fact that our troops occupy a foreign land by force of arms under the instruction of his party leader, the Prime Minister, and supported by his town's Labour Party MP, Jack Straw.

Does Bill Taylor not believe war divides race and culture more totally than any political debate?

In Burnley the BNP gained further victories, in some Clitheroe wards BNP candidates defeated both Labour and Conservatives candidates and in Pendle a number of BNP candidates made credible second places at their first attempt.

All of which should send a message to Bill Taylor and others that the electorate are dissatisfied with the multicultural, multiracial society at present being imposed upon them and are showing that displeasure by voting for a party that will publicly address their concerns.

How would Bill Taylor describe his own and his parties stance on issues of race when he and they refuse to debate openly all the concerns of all the community and, instead, hide behind flimsy accusations of racism to deflect any criticism of their policies? Councillor Taylor is reassured by the "All Our Futures" conference to be held later this month.

This he describes as an anti-racism conference bringing together members of the teaching profession, a profession so weighed down with political correctness it struggles to function in its capacity as the educator of our children.
