WHAT a tin-pot idea Blackburn's new wheelie bin system is. It is totally unacceptable to the elderly, disabled and blind people.
It is also very unhygienic, with food bins being left for two weeks.
Some people do not wrap up food leftovers before they put them in the bin. Blowflies will have a field day, not to mention rats and mice. If the summer is very hot we will probably see an increase in salmonella.
After we have done the recycling of rubbish on behalf of the council, will we see a reduction in our council tax? Or are we being taken for a ride? But the health aspect is a real danger.
