A WEEK-long event to teach people about helping the environment is continuing in Ramsbottom.

The Environment Week 2003, run by Bury Metro, finishes on Sunday.

The aim of the week is to encourage people to do their bit for their environment.

It will also promote the issues of healthy living, alternative therapy, organic food and sports and outdoor leisure activities.

The Bury Environment Fair, which is the main event in the week, is the biggest fair in the North West to focus purely on environmental and sustainable development issues.

Anyone who is involved in an organisation which promotes environmental-friendly ways of living are encouraged to attend.

The stalls are free and offer organisations the opportunity to hold an activity day, raise funds and recruit volunteers.

The Bury Environment Fair will be held at the Castle Leisure Centre on May 24 from 10am to 4pm. For details call Nisha Kapoor at Bury Metro on 0161 253 5000.
