WHAT a tonic it was to attend the production of Me and My Girl at Oswaldtwistle Civic Theatre by the Blackburn Amateurs.
Amateurs? This was no amateur production. It was first-rate and I enjoyed it just as much as when I saw the Manchester show with Gary Wilmot in the role of Bill Snibson.
Mark Robinson played that part excellently and could fill in for Gary Wilmot any day. However, it's a pity to single out any one performer because they were all so good.
All the ladies of Darwen Townswomen's Guild join me in congratulating all responsible for the show. We look forward to the next production, South Pacific, in 2004.
