WING WIZARD Damien Duff has scotched speculation over his future by insisting he wants to stay with Rovers.

Duff has been constantly linked with a big-money move to one of the Premiership big guns this summer.

But the wide man insists he is still planning to pull on the blue and white halves again next season.

Duff said: "My only preference as a club is Blackburn Rovers, and that's all there is to say on the matter.

"I am truly in the dark about what might be happening and I think the player is always the last to know.

"You must be doing something right if you are getting linked to the biggest clubs, but I haven't heard anything from any club.

"At the moment, I just consider it paper talk and I haven't even talked to the gaffer about it.

"I am happy where I am at the minute, and that's as a Blackburn Rovers player."

The news will be sweet music to the ears of boss Graeme Souness, who has been unable to pick up a newspaper without seeing his main asset linked with either Manchester United or Liverpool.

Souness already faces losing David Dunn this summer after the midfielder rejected the offer of an extension to his current deal.
