WHAT an amazing story about Father Haigh sending his cruxifix to Sir Edmund Hillary to be buried on top of Everest.
Every time I hear Everest mentioned now, I think about St Mary's in Leyland and our cross that's buried up there.
It's made the whole mountaineering thing mean so much more to me now.
And after all his endevours, to think Sir Edmund even remembered. Amazing!
