A NEW environmental hero has joined Lancashire school children in the battle to keep the Red Rose county green.
Environ - an animated wheelie bin - is the central character in a new CD Rom that is being given free to all primary schools in Lancashire as part of the FREEEEP scheme - Free Environ Education Programme.
By following his advent- ures and helping with various tasks the children learn all about composting and how it can help save the environment.
The computer program was developed by E&E Software with cash from the Lancashire Environment Fund.
It has been designed to link in with curriculum subjects such as personal, social and health education, citizenship and science through a series of electronic workpages.
