A WILD deer has been sighted not far from Atherton town centre. Farmer Mark Lancaster was mowing a field behind Hesketh Fletcher High School early on Monday when he surprised the deer which ran off towards Hamilton Street.
The Lodge Lane farmer said: "I know years ago a few deer were introduced on the Hulton estate, perhaps it's a descendant. I took a picture of one 22 years ago but this is the first I've seen since in this area."
