AFTER reading many letters from motorists constantly moaning about running costs, congestion, speed cameras and so on, people seem to forget one thing.

Who wanted the car in the first place?

Nobody forces you to drive.

Did anyone from the school of motoring drag you kicking and screaming to the test centre and force you into a car?

You made that decision through your own freedom of choice.

Considering all the various problems on the roads (too many to list) there is only one real big menace and it sits behind that steering wheel.

If the majority out there are too bone idle to use public transport, a bike or, for short distances, put one leg in front of another (the cheapest form of transport) and won't give up the car, then they should all stop complaining, pay up and accept all the problems they cause.

After all legs were invented before wheels.
