WE HOLD a Remembrance Day every year in memory of the millions who died in two world wars, but forget why they died.

They were told it was so that our country would never be ruled from across the channel. We now see that what was not achieved by the sword has been done by the pen.

We are being ruled from across the channel by EU directives, burdening us with absurd laws we would never have passed ourselves.

Keeping our own pound may be the only link for leaving the EU when it fails. For those with short memory spans, let me remind them that it was a certain Mr Blair who made this promise, and I am reading from a news column I cut out at the time.

Quote: "When the Labour Party comes to power it will negotiate Britain's withdrawal from the European Community which has drained our resources and destroyed jobs" unquote.

That was when he was on the opposition bench, in a pre election plea for votes. Having got him the votes the promise was forgotten and quietly buried. Yet he still claims to have integrity. How can the politicians expect us to trust them? COME ON ENGLAND.
