ACCRINGTON Stanley have knocked down suggestions they are set to swoop for former Burnley defender Gerry Harrison.

Reds' boss John Coleman admitted an interest in Leigh RMI ace Harrison, who became a cult favourite at Turf Moor in the mid 1990s.

But Coleman will not be adding Harrison, 31, to his squad ahead of their Conference campaign, which kicks off next month.

Coleman said: "Gerry is a player I looked at long and hard last season and there is no doubt he is a quality player.

"But we have a bit more strength in depth now after adding some experience and I don't think we will be pursuing that one."
