GRAEME Souness last night told rookie goalkeeper David Yelldell: 'You will get your chance next season.' The £100,000 signing from Stuttgart Kickers has been brought in to provide cover for experienced duo Brad Friedel and Alan Kelly.
And Souness has promised the 21-year-old that he will get an opportunity to impress in the first team at some point during the next 12 months.
"He'll push Brad all the way," said Souness, after capturing the young keeper on a three-year deal.
"In David, I believe we've got a young fellow who's got very little experience but we see a raw talent in him which will develop.
"Whether that's in the next 12 months or 36 months, we think he's got it.
"We'll give him a chance this year. I'll throw him into the first team to see what he can do, maybe in some of the Cup games that we've got."
