POLICE have renewed an appeal for witnesses to a road accident as a 25-year-old victim is treated in hospital.
Stuart Whitwell, 25, of Selbourn Mews, Blackburn, was crossing Bolton Road, Ewood, from nearby Tapestry Street when he was involved in an accident at 1.55pm on Saturday.
Police said he crossed in front of a car turning left and into the path of a red Lancia Delta.
Mr Whitwell sustained a fractured skull and is being treated in intensive care at Royal Preston Hospital. His condition was yesterday described as critical but stable.
They would also like to hear from the driver of what they believe was a white van who may have witnessed the incident, as well as the driver of the Lancia.
Contact the Accrington Road Safety Unit on 01254 353767 and ask for PC Gary Taylor with information.
