A FURNITURE upholstery factory is expected to be closed for at least a week after a fire at the premises.
The blaze at Euro Upholstery, in Boland Street, Little Harwood, started after a mattress was put against the door and set alight around 9.30pm on Sunday.
Four appliances, from Blackburn and Darwen, attended the fire, which spread to a 20 metre by 10 metre area in the single-storey building.
Firefighters used breathing apparatus as they spent nearly two hours battling the blaze.
The owner of the business, Mujib Rahman, is abroad but has been told of the fire which damaged the factory's foam storage area.
His father-in-law, Usman Patel, who is one of four employees at the site said: "At the moment we still don't know the full extent of the damage as the owner is away.
"We will probably be closed for a week or two weeks."
