WHAT a brilliant event the Oakhill Park Festival, in Accrington, turned out to be. After a week of rain, even the sun turned out.
There was a very small minority who were obviously there to drink as much as they could, but most people just relaxed, had a good time and enjoyed the music.
I was looking forward to seeing the Fashionable Winos perform after all the letters I had been reading in your newspaper and they definitely didn't disappoint -- their rendition of 'My Generation' was even better than the Who. Krakon also stood out as a superb talent.
Who needs Glastonbury with high-priced tickets and mud when exceptional talent can be enjoyed on our doorstep free of charge -- and with sunshine to boot!
