FIERCE storms may be to blame after a tree fell onto a car in Preston, injuring five people.
A Ford Probe was being driven along Black Bull Lane at around 8.40pm on Sunday, August 10, when the large tree collapsed onto the car.
All five people in the car were taken to hospital, three with minor injuries. The driver and one female passenger have been detained in hospital with more serious, crush injuries.
The injured have not been named.
PC Dave Taylor of the Preston road policing unit said: "We are unsure as to why the tree fell, whether it was a result of the storms at the weekend."
