PARISH councillors are to meet the chief engineer of Burnley Council to discuss the possibility of 20mph becoming the speed limit for the whole village.
The meeting is to take place in the village so that the chief engineer can see for himself the "dangerous hotspots" around the village.
COUN Brenda Lambert has been informed that two litter bins have been destroyed in the village by firewporks being placed in them. The bins destroyed were the large one from in the village square, and a smaller one outside The Chippy. It will cost at least £200 to replace the large bin. THE borough council will replace the large wheelie bins in Water Street with smaller ones if a request is received from residents .
LANCASHIRE County Council are progressing with work to resurface the roads leading to the village, and Coun Steve Large is looking into the roads around the village square being undertaken in next year's budget.
THE September meeting of the parish council has been moved back a week to avoid the local September holidays. It will be on Tuesday, September 16, at 7.30pm.
