A MAN on anti-depressents died after taking three times the lethal limit of his prescribed drugs.

Craig Matthew Moore, 31, was found dead in a room in at the Hendley Hotel, Colne, on September 4 last year.

Burnley Coroner's Court heard he had been sharing the room with girlfriend Antonia Marshall, who has since disappeared.

Pathologist Dr Abdul Al-Dowd said there was three times the lethal limit of anti-depressant in his blood. A hotel resident discovered Mr Moore unconscious in his room shortly after 7pm.

Bernard Collins, owner of the Hendley, said they moved in last April but had lived separately for a short time. He said they got back together but still argued.

Mr Collins said that on the day, his girlfriend had come to dinner alone and said he was asleep. At that point another resident discovered his body.

He told the inquest: "He was a timid person and Antonia used to rule the roost. Earlier in the day he had seemed normal. There was no indication of this."

Mr Moore's mother, Lilly Moore, said she had taken her son to hospital two or three times last year after he cut his wrists and arms.

Acting East Lancashire coroner, Richard Taylor, said that as Antonia Marshall did not attend, he could not be certain Mr Moore had intended to take his own life. He recorded a verdict of accidental death.
