POLICE are warning people to shut their doors after a burglar stole luxury items from an unsecure house.
An intruder went into the property on Marsh House Lane between 2.30pm and 3.30pm on Monday when the door was open because of the humid weather.
Luxury items worth more than £1,100 were stolen, including a £350 Gucci handbag, a matching £165 purse and two pairs of sunglasses made by Police and Chanel.
Police say the thief walked in through the front door and found the property on a table.
DC John Entwistle of Darwen CID said: "People need to be made aware that they can't leave their doors open because there will be people ready to make a move and enter the property. Residents should make sure their homes are secure at all times and not just during the winter months."
Anyone with any information on the incident should contact Darwen CID on 01254 353842.
