JOBHUNTERS in Darwen are encouraged to continue searching throughout the summer.

Two free workshops will be held this month to help people who are interested in changing jobs or getting back into work.

The scheme is aimed particularly at the 177 ex-employees at Crown who were made redundant at the beginning of July.

Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council's Access Point on Duckworth Street will be running the workshops.

Diane Gottweiss, centre co-ordinator, said: "We will give a basic introduction on how people can present their skills on an application form.

"We also have an interview techniques workshop where people are guided through typical interview questions and advised on how to identify their strengths and sell themselves. The focus is on building people's confidence so they increase their chances of getting the job."

Anyone interested in the workshops can contact the Access Point on 01254 707551 or drop into the reception to book a place.
