TONY Skoyles -- with 43 points from 12 matches -- was overall winner of the Leigh Washer and Vac sponsored angling series on the canal at Leigh.
But series runner-up David Lloyd took a two pound tench and six other fish for a net of 3lb 3oz to win the last match fished on the Butts Bridge to Hall House section of the Bridgewater. Until the last event David was level with organiser Ken Buxton on 61, but Ken came fifth for a 66 points total.
Runner up Brian Meadows had 70 fish on punch for 2lb 15oz ahead of Tony Skoyles who had some nice roach on hemp and caster for 2lb 10oz. John Hope was fourth with 2lb 2oz.
The Monday night series for the Benny Ashurst Cup was won by Ken Buxton but the event was poorly supported on the canal and next year will be fished on Bickershaw Opencast lakes. Details will be posted on notice boards.
