IT would be nice if one of the big supermarkets sponsored a roundabout. On coming round the one at Whitebirk, Blackburn, it is very hard to see approaching traffic because of the build-up of overgrown trees, bushes and grass.
They also look so unsightly if not planted out properly.
Many big stores will take over the maintenance of a roundabout then have a plaque with their name on to say which one it is.
One way of advertising, without being in your face, so to speak and it also keeps the area looking good.
At present, they are certainly in need of tender loving care.
The viaduct in Accrington is just how a roundabout should look and a great credit to the gardeners.
