CREATIVE kids have given up two weeks of their summer holiday to go back to school.
Thirty 10 and 11-years olds from Leigh and Hindley Green have congregated at the Gifted and Talented Summer School at Westleigh High to work on marketing a wildlife centre. Their ideas will be unveiled tomorrow (Fri).
The children, who were selected by their schools, have spent their time designing and creating logos and advertising. This involved creating mood boards, using cutting edge computer aided design, market research and planning manufacture.
Ideas have been stimulated by visits to Jodrell Bank, the Blue Planet Aquarium, Drumcroon and the Science and Industry Museum.
The second week saw the students bring their ideas together, developing mathematical skills in symmetry in design as well as pattern cutting, screen printing, textiles and computer aided manufacture.s
