AN inquest into the death of a man found hanging from a tree next to a Burnley hotel has been opened and adjourned.

The badly decomposed body of Richard Williams was found hanging in waste ground next to the Oaks Hotel, Colne Road, almost a month after he disappeared. Richard, 23, had not been seen since leaving the Hendley Hotel in Colne on July 19 to go to Burnley General Hospital. The gruesome discovery was made by a family who own the patch of waste land near the three-star Oaks Hotel in Reedley.

An investigation has been launched after claims he made repeated attempts to get himself referred to a psychiatrist.

The inquest was opened yesterday and adjourned for further inquiries.
