SUNSEEKERS could be forgiven for having a moment of panic when they saw hordes of troops heading up Blackpool beach in Saturday's searing heat.
But there was no reason to worry - this wasn't an invading force bent on overthrowing British democracy -- it was a demonstration as part of Blackpool's popular weekend Sky Show!
The 'invasion' was staged on Saturday and proved to be one of the highlights of the weekend event.
On Sunday, the action moved to the skies, with a variety of RAF aircraft taking part in a celebration of 100 years of armed flight.
The highlight for many of the massed crowds was an appearance by the Utterly Butterly wing walking team in -- and on -- their vintage bi-planes.
And, for Bispham gran, Barbara Page, 73, it was a day she would never forget as she took to the wings of a plane in a daring bid to raise money for the Blackpool RNLI Lifeboat.
