BURNLEY winger Glen Little is hoping to seal a "dream move" to the Premiership after joining Bolton in a shock deadline day loan.

The Clarets ace, who refused the offer of a new contract last week, has joined the Trotters on a month long deal that sees both Gareth Farrelly and Delroy Facey make a similar move to Turf Moor.

And Little, 28, is hoping to impress Wanderers boss Sam Allardyce and achieve his lifelong aim of playing in the top flight.

He said: "To play in the Premiership is a dream come true for me. I have always wanted to play at the highest level and now I have my chance.

"I have been plying my trade in the Nationwide League for quite some time and this is the opportunity I have been waiting for.

"Even though it is only a month, it's a great move for me and if I can perform over the next few weeks, I may be able to make the move more permanent.

Little, who had a similar loan spell at Reading last season, added: "The move came as a surprise.

"I got a call from the gaffer yesterday to say I would be going to Bolton for a month and now I can't wait to join up with Sam Allardyce and give it my best shot."

Little's switch follows a week of negotiations with Burnley chairman Barry Kilby in which he chose not to extend his current Turf Moor deal, which expires next summer.

The Reebok loan move, which could be extended, sees Republic of Ireland midfielder Gareth Farrelly, 28, and striker Delroy Facey, 23, both join the Clarets on initial one month loans with a view to permanent moves.

Clarets boss Stan Ternent struck the two-for-one-deal with old pal Sam Allardyce as Monday's transfer deadline loomed.

And the Burnley boss believes he has bagged the best deal with the initial short-term swap.

Chairman Barry Kilby explained: "This offer came in and I asked Stan to make the decision based on football, not financial reasons.

"He makes the football decisions because he has to stand and fall by them. These two lads were on Stan's list, but their wages add up to £20,000 per week between them, which is clearly astronomical.

"But a deal was then put to us at midday yesterday that involved Glen going to Bolton and two of their players coming to Burnley on a reciprocal basis.

"I spoke to Stan about it and asked him which deal would help us win more games in the month of September and he felt that the two players would be the best way."

Kilby added: "Stan spoke to Glen, who has always been keen to have a go in the Premiership."

"But the wages are just the same. We continue to pay Glen and Bolton continue to pay their two lads.

"However, it's Stan's judgement that with these two players, rather than having Glen, we win more matches in September."

Allardyce himself was delighted to sign Little and offer the tricky winger the chance to cut the mustard at Premiership level.

He said: "Glen is a quality player and it will give him a chance of playing the Premiership which is something he's always wanted to do.

"While at Burnley, he's always been one of their star players and we'll see what he can do for us in the top-flight of English football."

Burnley's incoming duo will also be hoping to impress Ternent to end spells stuck on the sidelines under Allardyce.

Former Everton ace Farrelly joined Wanderers in November 1999 after failing to impress Blues manager Walter Smith, but has since struggled to become a first team regular.

The arrival of Jay Jay Okocha and a host of other foreign signings saw him see out last season on loan at Rotherham and he joins Burnley having made just 66 starts in three-and-a-half years.

Facey, a £300,000 signing from Huddersfield in the summer of 2002, is a strong, pacy and powerful striker who also spent part of last season out on loan at Bradford, where he scored on his debut and made a further five appearances.

He was then recalled by Allardyce, made his only Premier League start against Fulham in January and scored his first goal for the club against Birmingham in February.

Facey made his last Wanderers appearance as a substitute at Manchester United on the opening day of the current Premiership season.
