A RUN drought on Saturday was followed by a run feast on Sunday as Greenmount had a weekend of contrasting fortunes.
At Horwich on Saturday the village side batted first but struggled on a slow wicket and their entire team were all back in the hut 90 runs later.
Only the visiting professional Robin Morris made any impact on the scorers as he compiled a watchful 43 runs.
Morris' opposite number, David White took an excellent 7-45 to leave his side with the simple task of knocking off 91 runs!
However, Greenmount paceman Mark Stewart had other ideas and he took 8-39 in 17 overs to see the home side wobble but White's 22 was the biggest influence in Horwich's nailbiting one-wicket victory.
A century from Morris and 45 from Jimmy Horrox provided the platform for a return to winning ways against Farnworth on Sunday.
Useful contributions lower down the order from Stewart, Mark Fallon and Neil Kay ensured they posted an impressive 242-9 in their allotted overs.
In reply, Farnworth put up a brave fight with Desai being run out for 47 and Carl Barrow (50) suffering the same fate.
A late flourish from Merai and Lee Bridge, who both finished unbeaten on 48, did push the game to the wire but the home side held their nerve to prevail by just four runs.
