THE BNP has joined the fight to change the M65 Services sign to read 'Darwen' instead of 'Blackburn'.
The party says it will focus on the wrangle as part of its election campaign in the town.
Robin Evans, the party's councillor in Mill Hill, Blackburn, said: "We are 100 per cent certain that this issue will be used in our election campaign to gain seats in Darwen.
"The sign is based in Darwen and that's what it should be called and the people of Darwen are right to be upset about it. We fully support any effort to resolve the problem."
The BNP is leafleting houses in the town.
Labour councillor Dave Smith has set up a meeting with M65 bosses tomorrow to discuss the services sign issue.
