RAMSBOTTOM United manager Andy Grimshaw is convinced his side need just one win to kick-start their season -- and what better way to do it than knocking the league leaders out of the FA Cup?

That's the task for the Rams tonight as they prepare to face Woodley Sports, the team with four wins in four games in North West Counties Division One.

Ramsbottom managed to hold them to a 1-1 draw on their own turf on Saturday and Grimshaw is looking forward to facing them for what will already be the third time this season in tonight's replay.

"It was a really good performance by us on Saturday. At the end you wouldn't have thought we'd got a draw at the team top of the league because all the lads were disappointed we didn't win," said Grimshaw.

"I think that kind of display is what's been going on all season but we've been very unlucky and results have gone against us.

"But we've got some good players and I changed a few things on Saturday by playing a new system.

"It was unbelievable we didn't turn more opportunities into goals."

It was the tactics of Woodley that also concerned the United manager, however, as he's convinced they won't play into his hands again tonight.

Grimshaw added: "They shot themselves in the foot with the system they played, I couldn't believe it.

"They had three at the back with the full backs going forward, but it left my wingers so much space, they hardly went forward.

"I thought one of their forwards was a big threat but they left him out, which I'm sure they won't do again tonight. He made a difference when he came on."

A delay in laying down a new surface means this is Ramsbottom's first game of the season at the Riverside.

Their first four league games, including one against Woodley, have all been away and they have only picked up one point.

Grimshaw said: "I'm confident. The ground is completely new and looks beautiful, and now we're finally playing at home it should give us a big boost.

"We are just short of that first win that will give us confidence and then we'll go on a run."

The winners of tonight's replay will be at home to Ashington in the first qualifying round.
