WELL, it looks like it's up to me now!

I think most people know it's been a dream of mine to play in the Premiership and now I will hopefully get that chance.

It's a move that came right out of the blue as far as I'm concerned. I had heard a couple of whispers, but that sort of thing happens all the time and you tend not to take any notice.

I trained as normal on Monday and the gaffer called me in at lunchtime and put the deal to me.

We talked about it and I think I realised straight away this might be the last chance saloon for me.

The gaffer was great and told me he also felt I should give it a go and from my point of view it's a dream come true.

I have always wanted to play at the highest level and all I can say to disappointed Burnley fans is how could I possibly turn it down?

There have been a few chances in the past, I believe, but Burnley have always turned down any deals and I have no argument with that whatsoever because I love the club.

But any player worth his salt wants to pitch himself up against the best and I'm no different.

Bolton is pretty much the perfect location too as it's not far to go. I don't think you are ever going to get a move to a top six club unless you are something extra special, and in this area it's either Bolton or Blackburn. I don't think the Burnley fans would ever speak to me again if I ended up at Ewood!

I'm also delighted that I'll be working with Sam Allardyce. I've known him for a long time now and I remember him trying to buy me when he was manager of Notts County.

At that time, I wasn't having the best of times at Burnley under Chris Waddle and Sam made his move.

But Waddle suddenly had a change of heart and put me back in the side and I suppose now everything has turned full circle.

It's just frustrating that I have to wait a fortnight until I possibly play my first game against Middlesbrough.

But then it's Newcastle and Wolves before the month is up, so hopefully I can impress and maybe even extend the loan spell.

It blows your mind when you think you could be playing alongside Youri Djorkaeff and Jay Jay Okocha.

Of course, I would never say it's the end of my Burnley career, because things might not work out here at Bolton.

But everything is in my hands now I suppose and I intend to give it my best shot.

In the deal, Burnley have picked up a couple of more than useful players in Delroy Facey and Gareth Farrelly and I really wish them all the best.

The addition of Andy Todd is also a great move by the gaffer. I know he's arrived from Blackburn and that will get a few fans moaning again, but we are in an era where you can't be too fussy.

If you have the chance to get a good player in you have to do it and if Andy does the business no-one will bother.

While I was there, it was clear the squad lacked strength in depth and the gaffer has addressed that this week.

David May used to play for Rovers, but he's done well, so the fans should be getting behind Andy, Delroy and Gareth straight from the very start.
