FIRMS in Pendle are being urged to join an award scheme which could help them boost trade.
The organisers behind the Queen's Award for Enterprise want companies to apply now for the 2004 awards, which are given for exceptional achievements in international trade, innovation and sustainable development.
So far there have only been one or two entries from Pendle firms, and the awards office believe there are more out there which could show they are among the best in the country.
Stephen Brice, acting secretary of the Queen's Awards office, said: "The number of entries from East Lancashire as a whole is disappointing. We would like to see more applying for this most prestigious of business accolades."
