STORE supervisor Beryl O'Hare is putting her best foot forward to boost funds for breast cancer research.

The beers, wines and spirits boss at Golborne Asda will take part in the Great North Run on September 21 for Breakthrough Breast Cancer.

It will be the second fund raiser for Beryl, 55, of Fairfield Avenue, Golborne, who last year raise £300 from the Manchester Ladies' run for a different breast cancer charity.

Beryl, who started running two years ago, and can be seen pounding the streets of Golborne and Culcheth, said: "Everyone everywhere knows someone whose life has been touched by breast cancer and this is my way of showing support."

Beryl will be accompanied on the Newcastle to Sunderland half marathon by a friend from Golborne St Thomas' Church, Christine Hart, of Clifton Mill Road, Golborne, who will be supporting her own chosen charity.

Beryl, who has worked at Asda for 25 years, will be sponsored by friends and colleagues.
