THERE is Bury FC first team, the Reserves, the Youth team and now -- the Forever Bury team.

This is how it happened -- before the away game against Kidderminster, trust secretary, Simon Egan received an invitation to send a team of Bury supporters to Kidderminster to play a match, prior to the main game.

It seems that many supporters' trusts, such as Forever Bury, have their own teams composed of supporters who play friendly games prior to the Nationwide league match.

Forever Bury did not have a team but that difficulty didn't prevent Simon accepting the challenge. There followed a scurry round to assemble a scratch team, kit them up, organise travel arrangements etc. As usual, Susan Tunstall was conscripted to facilitate the fixture.

The result was that prior to the Nationwide fixture the supporters of Bury and Kidderminster did friendly battle. Kidderminster won 4-1 but considering the way the Bury team was assembled, the result didn't matter. In any case, it was whispered that the home team had been in training for a whole week in preparation.

Update on Time for Change at Gigg -- the small collection boxes keep rolling in and new boxes go out. At the last count, more than £920 had been banked and there was more than £100 in loose change waiting to be bagged up. The weight of the copper coinage is incredible so no fear of sneak thieves running off with it!

Diary dates -- Sunday, September 7: penultimate car boot sale at Gigg Lane this year; Thursday, September 25: quiz night at the Social Club; Sunday, September 28: the Brown Cow at Burrs is running a car treasure hunt, £10 per car, proceeds to Forever Bury funds.
