REGARDING your report that water bills are set to soar (LET, August 29), I am disgusted.
I live alone with my guide dog and pay more than £150 a year in water rates for a single-person flat. Most of my mates who have children pay less.
I am amazed at the intended increase. I will be one of the first people to have their water supply disconnected as there is no way I can pay this astronomical rise.
United Utilities should be ashamed of what they demand that we pay now.
