AN ARMED thug escaped empty handed when he tried to mug a teenager in a Bury park.
The offender was armed with a craft knife which he pulled on the 17-year-old as he walked through Manchester Road park on Friday night (Aug 29).
The robber demanded a mobile phone but fled when his victim raised the alarm.
The attacker is described as olive skinned, aged 19, 5ft 10in, of medium build, and wore a black baseball cap, a hood top and dark tracksuit bottoms.
