TOTTINGTON Primary School pupil Harrison Barlow could not believe his eyes when the sunflower he planted from a seed back in March kept growing and growing.
Harrison, who lives in Scobell Street, Tottington, said: "My dad measured it and it was 13ft."
The youngster, who helps his father Joe in the garden, said the secret of his success is: "Water, and Miracle Grow."
Mr Barlow said: "He really looked after the sunflower, which was the weakling of the batch, and it just overtook mine completely.
"Harrison has been using pigeon manure, which he was told would make the flower grow; it has certainly done just that!"
Now the budding gardener is already planning how to beat his own record next year!
