ARMED thieves threatened a motorcyclist with a knife and wrench before stealing his machine.

The robbery happened in the car park of the McDonald's Restaurant in Bury New Road, Whitefield, on Sunday evening (Aug 31).

Police said the 18-year-old male biker was standing alongside his bike when two men wearing balaclava masks approached from behind in a car, possibly a Peugeot 206 or a Honda Civc.

They each produced a weapon and ordered the victim to hand over the keys to the Yamaha 125, worth £2,500, and his helmet.

One of the men jumped on to the bike while his accomplice escaped in the car.
