POTTERS, painters and pie makers are gearing up for a major gathering as Leighton Hall hosts its annual craft fair.
More than 100 craft workers from across Europe are expected to join the occasion on Saturday and Sunday (September 6 and 7) at Leighton Hall, near Carnforth.
The visiting artisans will be in giant marquees in the grounds of the Gillow family home with their wares and handiwork. Some will also be demonstrating their skills.
Among the goods for sale will be jewellery, rural arts such as corn dollies, soft toys, paintings, furniture, textiles, glass and ceramics.
And one of the highlights of the fair is also bound to be a marquee dedicated to a wide range of specialist food.
The event, which usually attracts about 8,000 people, is open from 10.30am to 5pm each day - and visitors are advised to wear walking shoes or boots as the ground can get very wet.
