A DEDICATED fundraiser has upped the stakes in her bid to foot the bill for hundreds of willing bone marrow donors.
Carol Worsley, who is to trek to Everest base camp in aid of the Anthony Nolan Trust, has raised her £3,000 target and is still bringing in the cash.
Following a Citizen appeal, people queued up at special ANT clinics to see if they were a match for leukaemia sufferer Jen-nifer Wilson who is Carols sister-in-law.
Now Carol hopes to raise another £1,000 to help cover the costs of registering local residents on the Anthony Nolan Trusts list of donors with a gig at Lancasters Gregson Centre.
Angie Palmer and the Swamp Dogs are set to appear during the evening of live entertainment organised for Friday next week, September 12, starting at 7.30pm.
Carol says the cash will enable local people to be put on the ANT register at a cost of £70 per person - and for their expenses and loss of earnings be paid if a match is found.
