A SIX wicket haul by professional Rauf Akbar saw Preston seal an impressive 15 point home victory against Fleetwood.
The Pakistani pace bowler took six wickets for 60 to help dismiss the visitors for just 116, 40 runs short of Preston's total. Shah with 62 was the top scorer for Preston.
Another professional who had a good day was Atif Ashraf for Leyland Motors. His unbeaten 42, together with a score of 43 from Patel saw the Motormen cruise to a seven wicket victory over Netherfield after the Cumbrians had been dismissed for 131.
Leyland almost stole victory at Blackpool. In reply to a score of 212/3 by the home side Leyland finished on 191/7 with Mercer top scoring on 73.
In their final league fixtures on Saturday Preston host Chorley while Leyland travel to Lancaster and Motors visit Fleetwood.
